Mxo At Selective Live
Mxolisi Lokwe popularly known as Mxo is a musician, music producer, songwriter and an actor, originally from Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) but relocated to Johannesburg in 1999 to follow his musical career.
He really knew what he went to Joburg for – soon after his arrival he started performing in nightclubs and some gigs at Hillbrow, Berea, Yeoville as well as Melville.
After some time he, and surely by his determination too met the popular Mr Ringo Mandlingosi who took him through some lessons about Joburg and the creativity of people from Joburg. After he met Mr Madlingosi he linked up with Sliq Angel who he then formed with an innovative duo Roots 2000, resulting in a series of performance at venues like Club 206, Woodstock, Arts Alive, Oppikoppie and Bassline.
As years went on he continued meeting these other amazing artists and he formed something with them, he also then released his own first album, got nominated to several awards, he involved himself in charity work as well. Mxo has done a lot of good things for himself which really shows that he knew what he went to Joburg for.
It was an honour for him to perform to celebrations of one of the people he adores, Winnie and Nelson Mandela on their birthday celebrations.
It is now a pleasure to host this talented musician who has achieved a lot and mostly blessed at Selective Live to bring his sounds to this wonderful venue.
