Maria Gakenye is a Kenyan Singer and song-writer based in Cape Town studying Jazz at UCT. This event marks her reintroduction in the live performance scene where she hopes to perform some works from her debut album MSAFARA, released in September Last 2021 and more.
Her slogan is an embodiment of an A-Free-Can spirit by achieving an Africanised Jazz sound Aesthetic. She is an Afrocentric individual, a fine print in her music. A storyteller of the modern and historical African perspective who hopes to inspire others to share and to communicate spiritually through thee gift of music.
