Qamata Live Experience

Qamata Live Experience, a performance of original compositions and arrangements – featuring an octet of voice, piano, bass, drum-kit, trumpet, tenor-alto saxophone and trombone, produced by Mpho Ngexe. Performances by Mpho Ngexe (voice), Vuyo Nkasawe (piano), Katy Racionzer (trumpet), Sisipho Mangete (trombone), Mwangi Njoroge (alto-saxophone) Carli Morkel (tenor-saxophone), Kanu Ntshoko (drum-kit) Girswin Pypers (bass guitar) and guest appearances, Nkanyezi Ngwenya (voice) and Garth Steenberg (clarinet). 

Mpho Ngexe is a 24-year-old voice performer from Cape Town, South Africa. Their performances are centred in jazz & Nguni musical traditions. Exploring Nguni Ndau cosmology through language and music, Mpho Ngexe formulates a peace experience through their performance work.
