Tanaka is the indie and bedroom pop project of Cape Town-based musician Sibahle Tanaka Holani.
Blending dreamy textures and
heartfelt lyricism, Tanaka crafts songs that explore love, longing, and the quiet beauty in growing up.
His sound drifts between indie, jazz, jangle, and dream pop, evoking the warmth of intimacy and the nostalgia of youth.
Since releasing his debut EP, You Look Beautiful in This Light (2023), Tanaka has emerged as one of Cape Town’s most exciting new voices.
The project’s lead single, Starlight, landed on Spotify’s All New Indie and Fresh Finds playlists, and the EP has since amassed over 200,000 streams
across digital platforms
