On the 18th of August, ByLwansta will bring his captivating new show to Cape Town’s Selective Live. Accompanied by his 5-piece band, ByLwansta will deliver a performance inspired by his latest album, “THE CHIP IS StALE”. The evening will also feature a live set by the neo-soul collective Babble Hume.
ByLwansta, originally from Kokstad, KwaZulu-Natal, is a dynamic force in the South African Hip-Hop scene. His work, a fusion of jazz rap and alternative hip hop, is characterized by his gifted storytelling and compelling live performances. With a 71-week residency in Joburg from 2023 into 2024, and performances on international stages such as Pop-Kultur Festival in Berlin, COLORS, Rocking the Daisies, and Zakifo Festival, ByLwansta’s charismatic and animated stage presence is nothing short of captivating. Supported by a dynamic live band, he crafts narrative-driven shows that resonate deeply with audiences. Beyond the stage, his innovative approach to music and design solidifies his status as a creative leader in alternative hip-hop.
