SUMMARY:Owethu Ndwandwe and Thane Smith Featuring Hymn_self
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Hymn_self is an ode by Siyabonga Mthembu to the hymn and song as a building block to his process. Its an idea of songs whose idiom doesn’t live in his current projects rather than being a solo-exploit. Its a reasoning with that which is soft\, in love and sometimes hurt in the sunset of grief if ever such an idea should exist. The first public iteration of this portal took place at Nirox Sculpture Park as an ode to fatherhood\, this one is in search of why here and why now… \n\n\n\nSiyabonga Mthembu is a South African performance artist and the lead vocalist of The Brother Moves On (TBMO)\, a Johannesburg-based ensemble known for its avant-garde fusion of music\, theatre\, and visual art. Formed between 2008 and 2010 by Siyabonga and his late brother Nkululeko Mthembu\, TBMO began as a collective of graphic and performance artists before evolving into a band \n\n\n\nOften performing under the alias “Featuring Hymn_self\,” Mthembu’s work transcends traditional musical genres. He describes himself not merely as a musician but as a performance artist who happens to sing\, emphasizing the ritualistic and communal aspects of his art . His vocal style is characterized by a dynamic range\, moving from meditative tones to urgent\, explosive riffs\, inviting audiences into spaces of prayer\, action\, and (r)evolution. \n\n\n\nGuitar: Thane Smith \n\n\n\nKeys: Owethu Ndwandwe \n\n\n\nVoice: Featuring Hymn_self

DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, music lovers are in for a treat as three talented artists – Hayley Jade\, Zimsto Eroofini and Gabriela Diamond – come together for a music happening that promises to be a night to remember. \n\n\n\nHayley Jade is a nomadic singer songwriter from Cape Town. Her smoky-sweet soul folk melodies\, haunting whistled interludes\, and intricate guitar picking will tug gently at your heart strings and lure you into a surreal\, dreamy haze. \n\n\n\nZimkhitha Ntebe affectionately known as “Zimsto eRoofini” is a multi-talented artist and fashionista with a colorful and contagious aura. SUMMARY:Siya Kawana at Selective Live
DESCRIPTION:Isicelo sendlela is a Xhosa phrase meaning asking for guidance. In these dark times we are facing as a country\, all we can do is to plead for guidance from the higher power and restore hope to our people. In this concert\, I want to give my audience hope to heal\, I want to be vulnerable with them and we all become vulnerable together and create a safe space where we connect and pray together for brighter days. I hope you don’t just enjoy this show but also become a part of this journey to manifest healing and peace to our broken nation. \n\n\n\nSiya was born and bred in Cape Town and stayed in Joe Slovo Park in Milnerton which is where he spent a lot of time growing up till now. \n\n\n\nIn his whole journey he was catching the love of Music from his church as he grew up going to church in Twelve Apostles’ Church in Christ. He started taking part in church competitions where he would be the leader of some songs and would conduct the Sunday school choir as he was also a part of it growing up and that was driven by the passion he had in music. \n\n\n\nHe carried the love of African music until he got enrolled at the South African College of Music at university of Cape Town where he majored in performing African Instruments. Early 2023 he graduated and got his Diploma in African Music Performance and is now doing his Postgrad Diploma in African Music Performance at South African College of Music in UCT learning more about the career path he has chosen for himself. He has started participating as a backing vocalist to a few artists around Cape Town and has started his journey as a performer and taking part in theatre productions as well as it is one of the things he like and enjoy doing dearly. \n\n\n\nDoors Open at 4pm and show starts at 6PM!!!
