She draws inspiration from social injustices\, using her music to promote awareness and healing. \n\n\n\nA graduate of Bridges for Music Academy\, Qaqamba is skilled in music production\, business\, and mindfulness\, and has released singles like “Zizinja”\, “Maqondana” and “Ingase Uyazi”. She also works as a Digital Marketer at a company called Comarketers\, leveraging her expertise to enhance her music career. \n\n\n\nInternational Debut (London\, UK): On the 19th of November \n\n\n\n2025\, Qaqamba reached a global milestone\, performing her first international gig at the legendary Fabric London for the Bridges For Music Academy Fundraising Gala Dinner. \n\n\n\nHer notable performances include FAME Week Africa\, Villa Viva\, and The Expresso Show on SABC 3. She was recognized by Bridges for Music Academy and performed at their Ultra Bridges Academy Gala Dinner with artists like Dr Dizu Plaatjies and uMsaki. Her achievements include TV appearances and nominations for the Basadi in Music Awards 2023. She has performed at Flame Studios Constitution Hill\, The Joburg Theatre\, and opened for Zahara at The Botanik Social House. In 2024\, she performed at The Cape Town Jazzathon at V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre and the Wine & Venture summit in Stellenbosch. \n\n\n\nQaqamba opened for Sjava\, Mandisi Dyantyis\, and Zonke at the Thikho Events Business Premium Jazz Festival at Cape Town Grand West Arena on April 14\, 2024\, marking the biggest performance of her career. \n\n\n\nDoors Open at 3pm and show starts at 7pm

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special gathering of music\, as Mabongi Thusi debuts her latest project\, Family Affair. The basis of offering is in the name\, with Mabogni being joined by her family\, blood and chosen to give us this unique experience of music and community. \n\n\n\nMabongi Thusi is a singer\, songwriter\, guitarist and community builder who hails from Kwa-Zulu Natal and is currently based in Cape Town. Mabongi is the lead singer of the band Mabongi Thusi & The OAK. The family band\, who are also three time Victory Gospel Awards nominees\, consists of herself and her sons; Owethu Ndwandwe (piano)\, Zwide Ndwandwe (bass) and Khanya Ndwandwe (electric guitar). Mabongi Thusi and her sons released their first album\, SINGABEZULU\, in 2015 and their second album Vimbani: Live at The SABC Auditorium in 2019. Their music combines the sounds of Jazz and traditional African music from different parts of the continent. Mabongi writes and sings in multiple African languages including IsiZulu\, Sesotho\, Lingala and Shona\, Swahili. In 2017\, Mabongi Thusi started crowdfunding project to open up a music program for students atInkwenkwezi High School\, located in the community of Du Noon\, Cape Town. The program was successfully launched when enough resources were gathered in 2018 to provide the school with their own set of marimbas\, allowing Mabongi and her sons to give students of the high school their very first lessons with musical instruments. Mabongi believes in using her music\, as well as her platform\, to address societal issues. Mabongi prides herself in being involved with various community based projects that are looking to bring progress\, justice and healing. \n\n\n\nDoors open at 3pm show starts at 4pm.
